This book is a beautiful exploration of an alternative to the way we now live as a society. It doesn't give a real world practical solution but it has motivated me to change the way I live.
This is the 15th copy of Ishmael that I have purchased, read, and then given away. Followers of Ishmael will understand the importance of sharing this knowledge so eloquently put forth by Daniel Quinn. This is a must read and should be taught not only at the college level (which it is) but should be required reading for High School students.
This book gives a new perspective on the culture that we live in. It is a must read. Even if that sort of thing isn't of interest to you it has a gorilla in it. Who doesn't want to read a book about a gorilla.
Anderson's Mid-Course Correction. Loved this book. Found it through Ray C. I hope it's required reading in all high-school and college "green" courses. Perfect compliment to Janine Benyus' Biomimicry which is another book I'd highly recommend.
Keeps you on your toes. Still, points surprised me. Intriguing way to explain the foundation of man's destructive nature. As a sustainability professional, I agree with and could predict much of the discussion. Also, I expected more from the main (human) character seeing that he admits that he "wanted to find a teacher". I wonder if I even should have expected more, though.
